we ran all our parts with no tuning to make sure the end user didn't receive a product that wouldn't work. Tune or No Tune.

Here is a thread with no tuning on ETS Parts.

25 psi. Keep in mind that my tune was done on CBRD's Mustang dyno which reads really low compared to some other dynos, and it was hot as ***** that day.

I really describe intercooler such as this...

first of all there are lots of options.. good ones..

you have AMS, ETS, BR, Ultimate Racing, Perrin, CBRD etc...

the price differences come down to the core used, availability of those cores, quantity produced, casting, welding etc...

The one thing I dont like, is the position that a FMIC will gain horsepower... if you take a cool day, with an evo X, run it on the stock fmic, and then run an aftermarket intercooler... you typically dont see a massive gain..

the gain comes from the efficiency of the core and its ability to cool the air, which in turn allows you to retune with more boost, and more aggressive timing and fueling... That is where your gains are made...

selling an intercooler as a 20whp mod, to me is dishonest!

We simply say "it will ALLOW you to make more power"...

I think most of the major companies will tell you the same thing,

i hope this makes sense, let me know if I can help.

I would take noticeable horsepower gains and allowing you to make more power almost one in the same. You can't go wrong with a back to back test which is what was performed above.

Replacing the stock intercooler and doing a run back to back seems to be a good test to me.

Our 760whp evolution x seems to like the intercooler.

Thanks!

Michael,

im not arguing that at high up it doesnt make power, youve already turned up the wick,

I think we are on the same page.

i tested 3 intercooler's back to back within 1 hour,

stock, then vertical, then horizontal, then stock, then vertical then horizontal..

3-5 whp on our dyno (obviously reads low)

there was NO tuning done AT ALL!

Either one you go with Im sure you will be happy, it all comes down to a matter of choice. Some just get the AMS one cause they are groupies and dont look in to other cores. There are many good ones like mentioned before, some even come anodized black to give you that stealth look.
