Question Transmission or Clutch or Both

Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!

08 X GSR 40+ on the clock, still on the stock clutch

I'm a little confused about the X. I love the car in every way except for the feel of the clutch/transmission. It feels really really cheap, I've noticed this since I bought the car. The throws and of course the feel of the stock pedal. Now I'm coming from and I'm still in an STI. The transmission and clutch just seem so much beefier on the STI.

The X is completely stock, I'm wondering when the stock clutch goes and I upgrade will I still feel this way?

Or will an upgraded clutch correct everything?

Also does the size of the X's tranny have anything to do with what I'm feeling because the STI's tranny is like the size of our dashboard while the X is like the size of our glove box ?

Well more info is nessary seeing as you haven't explained what you don't like specifly.
Besides the notchy shifting which can be fixed by better fluid.
I have 27000 on my factory clutch with daily driving, the my conclusion is most people have limited experience with an awd manual.

But the biggest issue I see is the comparison of the evo to the Sti. They are very different cars and just becaues they are rivals doesn't mean they have the same parts and will drive the same.

There's not really more I can say except that it feels like it wasnt constructed well, it doesn't feel have any symptoms that seem problematic. It just doesn't feel like it's stout. The stock clutch is like mush, which gives me the feeling like its cheap, and the amount of torque in car sometimes with gear changes or pulls makes the tranny seem like it's weak. I'm not sure if I could be any more descriptive than that.

Uh, I dont have limited experience with an awd manual, that's not the case at all.

I dont expect the cars to drive the same, but thanks for pointing out the obvious due to the fact I own both of them. Their differences are quite apparent as soon as I jump in and out. What I due expect like every other manual car awd/rwd/fwd I've owned, for the clutch or transmission not to make me feel that if I come off the gas then get back on the gas my cars going to fall apart. That's the feeling I get from the stock clutch and the tranny.

But thanks for your response anyway.

Does anyone else understand what I mean or have any input. I'm starting to think once I swap the clutch out I wont feel this way

Sorry if I sounded like a jerk I was trying to give a general answer.
Now a better clutch will be stiffer than the stock and I wouldn't want to put more that 400 awhp on the stock clutch, but part of the issue is the cheep clutch master cylinder, I've replaced mine with a tilton 76 series and the clutch feels as heavy as a mustangs, but it's not a stiffer clutch.
I've only driven manual in 05 srt4 neon, 02 civic si,and 03 oz rally lancer, and they have all shifted about the same except for the notchy ness of the evo x.
I do find the evo's trans to be a bit light seeing as I have shifted in to gear accedentaly with out the clutch and that being the only car I have ever done it in.

Personally I think most of the issue is in the master cylinder, but with the change I made it make driving in traffic suck.
