PT6235r Too Good to Be true or not?

Today I was talking to someone about a turbo kit for the X and I said I was planning on using a gt35r. By the end of the conversation he was telling me about a pt6235r. It is a pt6262 that is modified with a 35r wheel. Supposedly it spools faster than a 35r and makes more peak power. I googled this turbo and found very little info and was just wondering if anyone has heard of this thing. There are a few post on the forums where it is mentioned but not many details. If this is true I think I will go forward with this setup because I was already happy with how the 35r performs and if I can get earlier spool and more power it is win win.

Sounds pretty sick. Wonder if you can get it without the R (journal bearing)

I don't know for sure but I think the $1529 price is for a ball bearing 6235r and the $500 upgrade is for the billet wheel and ported shroud.

I was wrong about this. Its $1529 for the billet / ball bearing 6235r and its $500 to upgrade your current 35r to the 6235r.

Pretty pricey. Just get a GT35R HTA and be done with it.

Look up the Lucas from English Racing dyno graph, He just ran the the PT6235. It's a great turbo. True Garrett center section with Precision 62 billet wheel.

Or just get an "over the counter" GT35R. People keep talking about peak hp, but no one touches those "800whp" numbers on the street. For 99.9% of us with stock blocks on 93 pump. The GT35R is more than enough.

How would this compare to 6262 on a 2.0?

I'm pretty sure just a 6262 will spool faster and make more than a 35r.

Not the 6262s that I have seen, they make more top end hp but have mare lag than a 35r.

I guess it must depend on the car then. I've never seen one on an evo just mr2's.

I do not think the 6262 spools up faster and certainly is laggier than a GT3582R HTA.

6262 is more on par with an hta3586 spool-wise because the wheels are more comparable. Why mess with a standard 35r these days when the billet alternatives are not that much more and are so much more efficient! We have new technology, use it

CBRD has a few options but imho nothing is as proven as the above mentioned turbos on he evo platform.
