Making the move from stock->FP Black...

I hear from different people that the stock acuator would work just fine but I also hear that the upgraded acuator from FP was better... If anyone can clarify this before I my make my purchase, I'd greatly appreciate it. Here's a mod list I have so far, if it helps..

ETS i/c piping kit
ETS 3.5" i/c
AEM Cold Air Box
MXP 3" turbo back exhuast
Pierburg 3 port boost solenoid (not installed)
DW 850cc (not installed)
BlaqOps w/ walboro kit (not installed)
Kelford 214B w/ beehive springs (not installed)
Synapse bov (not installed)

I have a few buddies that run a stock acuator on their FP's but they arent too sure about the X's... Any info would be great. Thanks evoM !

It already comes with the upgraded actuator the only thing you would have to pay for extra is if you want it ported

It is interesting how many people are just diving into the black..honestly I am very surprised they are all that trusting without seeing any results yet really. There has been like 2 dyno charts posted, neither were ideal builds either, well one was but they didn't finish it.

Good luck with the turbo, but you may want to think it through a bit before you leap into a black sized turbo

Yeah I was going to go with the black but after seeing the charts on the Evo 9 with that turbo you'd be crazy to dive into it without building your engine.

Fp black is a great turbo if u have a build motor or have the funds for it. there is no point for some1 with just bolt on to run that turbo. It all depends what you want to do with the car: drag, auto x, etc... My motor blew after the car made 430 wtq on a dom 2.0 ( rod went)

if your not planning on pushing the car the black with be fine... dont get too excited with. run run 28 psi max while keeping the tq down and youll be fine. (speaking from personal experience)

your black will come with upgraded 21 psi actuator, high pressure oil line kit and the turbo itself. u deff want the 21 psi since it will hold boost much better then stock.

lets us know what u decide...just dont push it lol

Nope. Just bolt ons for now. I'm not shooting for the highest WHP. I want a balanced & conservative tune. I might upgrade the rods & pistons in the future.

I would think the black would be pretty decent on a stock motor with appropriate supporting mods. I would imagine people will be able to hit mid 450's without much effort and be safe doing so.

Seems like all the stock motors that are blowing up are a result of people trying to nickel and dime every last bit of HP out of the smaller stock frame setups (Huge TQ spike at low RPMs).

/shrug

Yeah thats what I would like to avoid I just want something reliable at the end of the day. But back to the topic, I'll just get the upgraded acuator since it comes with it and holds boost better. I wasnt too sure because some people do perfer the stock acuator over the upgraded ones.
