Isn't it just used as a hydrolic fluid from the resevoir anyway? I don't know if hydrolic properties are something tested for SPIII compliance, and it definitely seems silly to get some expensive boutique fluid with great lubrication, anti-shear properties, and additive package for an application that isn't about lubrication, won't cause shearing, and doesn't require the additives.

Old thread but.. holy crap.. is this true? I was worried today when the fluid read at the max line when off (and cold), and then it read at the min line when it was running and completely warmed up.
