AEM Analog UEGO Install Problems
AEM Analog UEGO Install Problems
I'm hoping someone can help me out on this!
I installed an AEM Analog UEGO by myself over the weekend, and everything seemed to be working fine except that my gauge would stay lit once the car was shut down. I figured it was no big deal, since I sourced the door lock fuse as constant power source. I didnt use my car for 2 days and went back down to find it dead, I didint think it would drain enough to cause that but apparenly it did. I unplugged and replugged the battery and I cranked it, it would not start and I get a constant ticking/clicking sound coming from around the fuse box area.
With that out of the way, question # 1 is what do I do to fix this?
Question # 2 is what fuses did you guys tap? I am assuming it is my choice in fuses that screwed everything up and simply switching to the correct will fix the issue.
Any help would be appreciated, I need this up and running asap as I was supposed to go out of town at the end of the week
Thanks!!!

tap into your radio power source.(turn key power)
the door lock is a constant power source.
Jump your car.
If you need more help.
Rely on aem uego how to install... Google it.
how to jump your car, buy a tricycle.

Jump start the car or take the battery out and put it on a charger. Not hard to do...battery is in the trunk as well as places to clamp the ground.
I used the lighter/accessory power for my gauges (fuse 13). An ATO add-a-circuit is the cleanest way to do that.

Starter ticking is totally normal for low battery. Read below:
http://www.2carpros.com/articles/rap...tarter-is-used
"A common problem with a car battery is low voltage. As a battery ages it loses the ability to store electricity resulting in an insufficient flow of electrical energy to the starter. The starter is designed to operate on a high amperage 12 volt system. When a starter is subjected to low voltage or amperage (flow) it will cause the starter to engage and disengage rapidly producing the machine gun like sound. To fix this problem a battery inspection or replacement is needed. There are two reasons that a battery will not perform as it should, either the alternator has failed allowing the battery's state of charge to become weak or the battery has failed and replacement is required. Unfortunately to check the alternator the engine must be running, so you must either jump start your car or replace the battery to check the charging system. If the alternator output test is ok then the battery is bad and must be replaced. If while driving the charge light indicator on the dash was not illuminated and the battery is more than three years old the battery has probably failed."
In your case you discharged the battery to a point where is lacked sufficient amperage to operate the starter motor.

lol you must work in IT if your first instinct is to unhook something, then reconnect and hope that fixes the problem... trust me, thats what I do 80% of the time.
Totally drained your battery to almost nothing. Jump it off.

Just to mention, the ticking sound CONTINUES once I pull the key from the ignition. I want to verify that that is in fact the same thing mentioned above, and another reason why I pulled the battery lol. I know that if the starter isnt catching it will click but to continue clicking like a bomb once the key is removed?

I felt like an idiot. This is 100% a dead battery, I promise. Just a horrible coincidence that it happened right after installing the gauge.
