oh damn I didnt know they had plastic valve covers, thats lame... Well If you could call AMS for me tmrw and find out for me. I'll prob go with a MAP manifold. I would have ordered one initially but for some reason I thought they were more expensive (trying to use my brain again) I know this had been asked a million time but maybe you could answer for me. Why would I want to go with an open dump as opposed to a recirc? If I had an open dump would my car still shoot nasty flames?

No creep issues with the recirculated version. IMO, nothing to be gained by going to a dump on a stock or similar turbo other than obnoxious noise (I had one once and it was cool for the first two weeks, but after that I just found myself not wanting to go WOT b/c of the noise).

Well I went ahead and changed my order lol. I wish I could find a good sound clip of what they soudn like. I dont think I've ever heard an evo x with vta wastegate.

(edit)
nevermind I found some video of the ets dumped dp and it sounds like ***... SO unless there are serious advantages to dumpign the wastegate I'll stick with my back ordered AMS =P

I'm waiting on Adam to get back with me on how long the AMS unit is on back order. If it's a really long time I'll change my order to a different downpipe probably yours...

So how do the AMS and MAP compare? do they both produce the same gains?

We have don't a back to back testing, I'm not sure of anyone that has the AMS downpipe to compare to. Both are obviously awesome pieces and will product nice gains.

Both great, it was a tough choice when I was placing my order. I ended up going with the MAP though in an effort to reduce exhaust turbulence; rather than a big bell-mouth like the AMS, MAP smoothly merges the turbine and wastegate gasses together down-stream from the turbo outlet.

I didn't put it on there, lol. We really didn't TRY to do a back to back comparison because we sell both and we have a good relationship with AMS.
