Idle issue

After hard acceleration, there are times, but not all the time.

My idle stays on 2000rpm, but when I shut down the engine and turn it on again, it goes back to normal idle..

What causes this and what could be the issue?

Dont reply, dont accelerate hard

Thanks

It's common from what I've seen on these threads about the X's. Mine has been doing it all day today... I'll rev it, even up at 3K, and it will hang for a while. I think it's commonly called a "hanging idle".

I'm not sure if the throttle cable is gunked up and it's causing it...? Anyone know where the throttle cable is anyway?

Appreciate the response, but mine doesnt hang, it sits to 2000rpm and the only time it will go back to normal when i shut the engine off and start the car again...but this is rarely that happens.

i'm not sure then... it's brand new right? You might just need to give things time to settle. Everyone's cars different. These cars, you never know what you'll get as far as failure or problems or little things like rattles or w/e

Evo X's don't have throttle cables. They're drive by wire, so you can stop searching lol!

Anyway, OP, I have a similar issue in the reverse of what you describe. Everytime I go 3/4 to full throttle and let off in either 2nd or 3rd gear the revs drop slow. This is when revs pass 5500-6000 rpm, mind you. It feels as if I'm decelerating in a higher gear until about 3000 rpm, then it decelerates as it should in 2nd or 3rd gear.

Sorry to thread jack, but I think it's relative to your situation. Must be a specific ROM issue as I have a ROM from mid 2009.
