Any 2.2 / 2.3 Sleeved Big Bore Builds?

I see a few 2.3 strokers, several stock bore/stroke 2.0s, but no 2.2 or 2.3 sleeved big bore engine builds out there. AMS is running a big bore but they are certainly spending more on their builds than most of us ever will. Is that why perhaps? Is anyone, other than AMS, running a 2.2, or 2.3, sleeved big bore? My car has been down for three months because I cannot pull the trigger on which way to go, 2.4 sleeved stroker or 2.2 / 2.3 sleeved big bore. If I am going to sleeve, I figure I might as well get some additional CCs out of the deal but then why aren't others doing so?? Maybe I'm missing something? So, any 2.2 / 2.3 sleeved big bores out there want to chime in?

I could totally be wrong but the Evo engine doesn't appear to be as meaty in materials like the Honda 4 cylinders, so cutting away excess material to cram huge sleeves into it isn't ideal. If you look between the walls of the cylinders and edge of the block there doesn't seem to be as much material as say a b18.

I'm sleeved but went 2.1l to give me room to rebuiod down the road. There's no issue sleeving our block, there's a few big builds out there just most of us are really more on the other forum.

I'll be doing the 2.2L overbore.

AMS is the only one to go to a 2.3L at this point and it sounds like they don't feel comfortable releasing that motor to the public as there isn't enough headgasket material left.

Regardless, tons of shops copied AMS and did the 2.2L overbore, its proven and works great...do it if you can.

That is a stroker kit not an overbore kit...different stuff.

I see you can now buy a Manley stroked kit with a 94 mm stroke to make a 2.2 ltr that might be a sweet set up if combined with a big overbore. This might be where Erl is getting the 2.4 liter with the Ibeam rods?

No, ERL's 2.4L is a 2.3L stroker with a 2.1L overbore, so 88mm pistons. I was going to try and do a 2.4L with Manleys crank and custom pistons and rods and 2.2L sleeves for a stroker that could rev close to 9k but they never got back to me.

Regardless of power, the ralliarts had a HUGE advantage until recently. The MR's used to have a 1st gear throttle cut that the ralliarts didn't have. Now the MR's can tune around that so I am sure you could knock off quite a bit of time on his run now.

so far one as much as i know.
but usually rally cars /evo/ gets maintenance every 5th race. most likely more then oil change, like dropping the oil pan - new bearings at the bottom, etc.
sorry about the confusion i have made . yes it is a stroked engine .

i had a 2.2 stroker done on 9:1 compression ratio,
cosworth kit.
on (gt 35r t4) from Ets it put down around 620hp ON c16 !!!.
cost me around the same amount the ams kit
the kit was assembled at tunning technologies in ca.
