I have pretty much the same issue with my Synapse DV. I am so frustrated with it, i put the stock BPV and now i am only holding 24 psi at redline.

I was considering the Tial QR but i dont know anymore.
You would think someone would have a solution to the drivability issues of a stiffer/better sealing BOV! I don't see why it's so hard to tweak these BOV's to perform properly for precision driving.

Also mine is VTA.
It's possible the VTA allieviates the problem, it could also be the nature of the GTX30 turbo which has a relatively large compressor flow rate compared to the exhaust side which is the same as the old GT30 still as far as I know.

It almost felt like once it reached 18+ psi it wanted boost to 26+ like a run away train but you would let off the throttle to control it and get all the bucking and fluttering trying to keep the boost around 20-22 psi. I did try and reduce the Exhaust MIVEC retard in that area of the load maps but it only helped a little bit.

The only other thing that might help would be to force the throttle maps to climb through that trouble TPS range more quickly. That way it would be hard to hover right in that trouble area, but it would be easier to modulate the throttle to be right below it or right above it. Still it might make the car feel like it is surging forward with unexpected acceleration which is bad news too of course but probably the lesser of two evils.

My synapse dv holds boost perfectly but i am 90% positive what my problem is that the preload spring is too stiff. If synapse made a softer spring, i am certain it would solve my issue. Synapse is aware of the issues that people with aftermarket turbos and there dv/bov. I hope they come out with different springs ASAP! Synapse told me to call Mil Spec and they would have a softer spring for the DV but they never gave me any contact information. I am so frustrated with this DV!!!

One option might be to just shorten the spring for less preload. The only difference between all the Tial springs that I could see was that they were taller for the stiffer rated ones and shorter for the softer ones. I would probably start off by cutting them down by half a wind and see how it effects it, then maybe one full wind. This is assuming that you are willing to experiment, it could render the valve useless as well.

I assume you are using a stand alone?

I ran a vta valve on my evo 8 and never had an issue, if I loaded the car heavy at low rpm and then clutched it I could upset it a bit, other than that I never had any of the issues everyone says they do with a vta setup. Kinda curious now on my 10 if I could get away with it.

i just put the tial recirc and it performs fine for now...havent really done many extras to the car yet...its got a nice sound to it...nothing to crazy...if you have stock piping and are planning on upgrading i would recommend to get the pipping then the BOV cuz you will have to weld the flange again...

There is a separate thread on this. I also have a Synapse BOV. What you need to do is back out the preload spring all the way and then hook your vacuum line to A only and line B you vent to atmosphere. I used to have surge but after this it works like a champ!

That is the setup i was running when i had the DV installed and it still fluttered like crazy. Like i said before, i have tried every combination of push/pull, A/B ports and preload settings and nothing worked. Some were better than others but they all fluttered. They need to have a softer spring option for the synapse DV and i think my issues would be solved. I am running the stock DV now.

Anyone want a Synapse DV?

I should edit my statement. I also removed the spring completely, and now it works like a champ.
