Evo X clutch question?

Plenty of different data out there that i've come across in terms of new clutch break in.. I'd love to have my car tuned again for the 3port that I got, and since the car is almost done with a rebuilt tranny, new t case and a new clutch, what issues would I run into with throwing it on the dyno right off the rip so I dont have to go back to the shop again in 500 or whatever miles??

Depends on the clutch/clutch material. You probably run the risk of premature wear and/or glazing. Especially on a carbon or kevlar material clutch.

I'd wait til after 500 miles before installing that 3port and getting tuned.

A new clutches clamping force is not at its maximum until it is broken in. But as long as you're not overheating it, you should be fine.

Just as example, ignore the manufacturer. http://www2.advancedclutch.com/image...l_graph_lg.gif

Tuning doesn't require aggressive engagement/disengagement of the clutch or high rpm shifts. Wear and glazing aren't a concern. No problem with tuning on a new clutch.

If you think about it, think about all the big shops when they do builds for customers (buschur,STM,AMS, etc) motor/turbo/tranny/fuel/CLUTCH/etc. after the build the car goes on the dyno then received by the customer tuned, turn key ready to go. Atleast thats the way I think it goes
