Timing Chain Stretch - How big of a concern is it?

I've been reading all these posts lately about the timing chain stretch problem and it has me concerned. At first, I thought it sounded like it only affected a few people but if Mitsubishi has replaced the part, it makes me wonder if it is a lot more widespread than I thought. Am I just being paranoid?

Every post I've seen has been about 2008 model years but supposedly the chain wasn't replaced until 2012. Are 2010's not being reported because it takes 40k+ miles for the problem to happen or is there something else about the 2008?

Can the timing chain learned value be reset by an ecu reset with the Cobb AccessPort or in any other way without having to go to the dealership?

Does flashing with the AccessPort reset the value? If so, does that mean that the warning indicator can no longer be relied upon?

Why does the oil pump chain have to be replaced at the same time?

Well I can't answer your first couple questions but yes u can replace the oil pump chain while u do the timing chain but the oil pan has to come and why would you want to replace your oil pump chain?
I recent just built my motor and just reused the oil pump chain but I did replace the timing chain and the stretch timing chain is a hit and miss thing

That is the question I am trying to find out. Why do they say that you need to replace the oil pump chain when you do the timing chain?

Anybody know the answers to the other questions, especially about the resetting of the learned value?

No clue dude. Maybe you could try to post a thread in the tuning section specific to relearning the value.
