The Official "I have not had a timing chain issue" thread
I know amongst us X owners it seems to be a fairly common topic on the forums, so I wanted to make a thread that could gather data on how common it actually is, aswell as how many of us it has/hasn't happend too.
Just post up, how many miles you have, mods, and driving style.
I hope to see pages and pages of people who have not had an issue.
I'll start. No known issue, 27k miles, bolt-ons/tune, driven spirtly everyday.

Evo X MR had TBE and Injen intake. Tuned with the first gear limiter removed by COBB 332awhp/314 torque and had no issues 30k kms.
Evo X GSR stock for now 10k kms no issues~

2008 Evo X with a Nov or Dec 07 build date.. I can't remember. DD my Evo but do maintenance early- oil change like every 2500 miles and use AMSoil. I know with some Mazdas the timing chain would fail and the dealer often said it had something to do with extra sludge build up from longer service intervals or something. Little over 39k miles. Drive it fairly hard/spirited driving occasionally.. "I wore out the stock tires around 10k but still have the stock clutch"
Mods: Catback, testpipe, intercooler piping, intercooler, intake, Cobb AP OTS stage 2.
I have no chain problems and I have never had any problems with anything.

2008 GSR with 32,000 miles, bolt-ons + tune. I think mine's also a Nov 07 build date.
I DD the car and do 6 or 7 track (road course) weekends a year. No issues yet...
I also do maintenance more frequently than the severe schedule and use Amsoil 5W-30 motor oil.
