We all know if you yank the e brake the rear is disconnected by the computer making it a front wheel drive car. If what you say is true, then you should be able to hold the front wheels and make it a rear wheel drive car. Send a video proving it to me and I will be a believer.

This must be one of the ten worst threads in the history of this site. The amount of pure nonsense is astounding.

Yep. That's right. When you pull the e-brake the center diff ceases to exist and the tranny is magically connected directly to the front diff. Cool, eh?

The closest the above comes to correct is this: when you pull the e-brake, the ACD stays fully open. Thus, rather than becoming FWD, what actually happens is that, suddenly, you have a 2:1 up-ratio to the front diff, since - assuming the e-brake locks the rears - the rear output from the center diff is no longer turning. This is why it is very important to hit the clutch when you do a hand-brake turn.

ps. I loved all the suggested values for the front/rear torque split on Page 1 of this thread.
