Finally decided on exhaust quick question

I have finally decided on the Ultimate Racing Titanium exhaust. I think it was meant to be. Hardly ever see Evo's around my area but got next to one today and that was the exhaust he had so I got to hear it and liked it. I think I am going to just change the cat to a test pipe and the exhaust for now. Save up for the AMS downpipe later on down the road. I have read both sides as far as how important a tune is after changing the test pipe. I do plan on getting it tuned. Right now I just have the ETS intake and no tune. Been waiting for the exhaust to do the tune. My question is, how long can I drive it without a tune once I put the exhaust and test pipe on? It may be a week or so before I can get the tune after the install. I read someplace to not drive at all without a tune and I read it is ok.

Also, any difference between the UR Titanium and regular other than the price and the tip being Titanium?

One more, sorry, the UR test pipe will just bolt up to the stock downpipe? Aren't the diameters different?

Thanks again.

Any tricks to making the install go smoothly would be appreciated. Or point me to somebody that has already posted the directions. I think I can do this myself.

UR parts aren't the best fitting (fmic, uicp and resonated test pipe)

Testpipe throws the rest of the exhaust way off making it hit multiple things in the rear, the fmic doesn't come with any mounting tabs or anything for their 4.5 which supposed to fit all years. If you got a 2008 your fine but 2010+ you'll need to make your own bracket on the bottom ofthe fmic

The uicp welds are sad to say the least..at least on mine, it rusted at two welds in less then a year.

Swap out their clamps for t bolt clamps or something stronger.

Apart from that enjoy

IMO, UR is a cheaper version of ETS.. I guess because their designs are quite similar. The UR testpipe and Catback are nice and should be good. The only difference is the tip as far as the titanium one goes, as far a I know.

You will be fine driving untuned with the Catback and testpipe, but don't drive it hard. The testpipe will prolly make the boost spike higher than normal so dont drive like a nutcase so you don't mess up anything till your tune. should be fine tho..

I am running the Ultimate Racing titanium tipped exhaust. First off, the mid pipe Will NOT fit your OEM cat, so either test pipe or high flow cat is a must. I tried that route and the holes for the bolts on the flanges did not align properly, had to buy a COBB high flow. Secondly, If you don't get the center midpipe facing the right way, your tips won't align right and one will stick out further than the other, so keep that in mind. It is a loud exhaust, even with my high flow car on, why go with a test pipe? yeah, you will make more power, like 4-5hp over a high flow, but I would chose the high flow over test pipe because it eliminates most of the smell from the exhaust(which stinks horribly), and the high pitch droning sound you will be hearing driving. Overall, UR catback is a good exhaust system, a bit on the loud side, but I like the look and tone it gives out.
