Which is recommended BOV?

Hello,

I'm planning to replace stock BOV to a nicer one for my '08 EvoX GSR with FPRED.

I think Synapse's products are one of the best BOVs for EvoX but they seem to be selling two kinds of product. Synchronic DV seems smaller, but I don't care the size. I rather care reliability and performance.

Which do you recommend, Synchronic BOV or DV? Thank you!

I personally have a HKS SSQV3 on my X and i love it
I would recommend either an HKS or Tial 50mm

I use the plumb back turbo smart. I just like the easy changes to spring tension

Hi,

Thank you guys for your recommends.

Did you both have any problems with DV?

I've seen Tial products. Their BOVs have a 50mm valve and a silicone diaphragm, seems good.
Do their BOVs have any ways to adjust their preload?

No I mainly need money and I was not tuned on it so it's just the easiest for me to part with. I did over boost 2psi more than I wanted to. And I tightend up the preload screw and it made it whistle when I tap the gas sometimes. But I did like the way it felt when it was on the car I wish I could keep running it.

There are four that I recommend:
-stock (IX or X)
-WORKS (basically stock with a stiffer spring)
-Cobb BPV (what I personally run)
-Synapse DV

I would get the synapse DV and if you are getting flutter (which 95% of all aftermarket BOVs/DVs do for the X), they make a softer spring for the synapse dv which eliminates the flutter.

I know this because i have a ported FP red and had flutter on EVERY DV/BOV i used on my car. Then after talking with Aby from Mil Spec, he hooked me up with a softer spring and it eliminated my flutter. The best DV for the X IMO is the stock DV but it does not hold boost.

Hi,

Thank you for the info. Ummm, I've been having probably same trouble with stock BOV since about my car became 3yo.

I also have to get same softer spring for Synchronic DV or almost every other BOVs.

Which spring rate do you use?

Thank you for explanation. It's good news that you have not serious trouble with Synchronic DV.

I knew I need Synchronic DV or other BOV but with softer spring.

I see that on most Evo's and what I'll probably go with in the future.

There can be fitment problems with the big Synapse BOV depending on the style of your intake and return pipe. It doesn't fit with the ETS intake for example.

I was running HKS for about two years with no problem. Just recently switched to the COBB. I would recommend both.
