Varex Mufflers
Nice idea.. But the motors for exhaust cut outs have a bit of a reputation for unreliability, not sure about this specific brand.. If you just want to be able to reduce the sound on occasion, a cheaper alternative could be using a silencer, although I'm not sure how they hinder performance
Mechanical aftermarket parts can be just as likey to fail as electrical aftermarket parts can. It's all about quality. We have not had any of our customers had a motor failure and they generally use the motor almost every day with no incident.
We are working on releasing a simple module that works with this muffler that comes with an adjustable boost switch from 1-25psi that automatically opens the valve once boost exceeds the specified boost level. Once the boost drops below that level, the valve closes automatically. I actually find the cruise tuning to be a bit smoother and less erratic with the increased back pressure when it's closed.

Any update on the boost actuated switch for this muffler?
