Varex Mufflers
Varex Mufflers
So i just saw while surfing around that there is a muffler called the Varix muffler that you can get put on your evo x. If you haven't seen it: http://www.xforce.com.au/about-varex...ts-muffler.php
in short it is a muffer that has a butterfly valve that is controled via a key fob. you can have it close which routes gases through other ports in the muffler and makes it a quite exhaust or open and have essentially a 3" muffler
This seems pretty cool. Did some searching but i only a few questions though.
Does anyone have this and have a dyno of the before and after with hopefully or as close to the exhaust being the only change?
Also I was wondering if you can make both control boxes work on one key fob so u don't have to have two if u want a dual exhaust set up? After looking at the site it seems they may have a trial version of a control box that will do this if I read correctly?
Maybe MAP Performance can answer this one as they have a single exhaust setup for sale:
Is there a exhaust that should bolt up that is a dual exhaust setup? Or do u know if one would be offered? Or would I be stuck getting custom piping?
I always liked the dual exhaust look that comes stock and usually they sound better than the single.
If your tuned with it open (basically a 3" tbe provided u have the piping to do it) will closing it for city driving F the car/tune up?
I know someone asked a while ago if they have a box that will open the butter fly valve automatically at a certain RPM. This seems to be true on their site. Would it be better to have this and have the rpm set to when boost has built up or any other RPM? Or is it better to have the button set up and then when u want to have fun/race u can just open the valve fully before starting?
and curiosity if anyone things it possible to make the key fob a hard mounted like button or switch?

We have used these on a few cars with great results. Very quiet! Zero drone while cruising. But with it fully closed you will make zero power, we could barely make 10 psi with it closed on a car tuned for 30 psi

so fully closed it would just behave like stock exhaust and not f-up with the tune being done with it open?
Sides the fact that i'm not 100% in love with the open sound (i like a little deeper sound) I though this is a god send if it works well as closed will be a anti-wife nagging setting lol

yeah hameedosh let me know. interested as to if you drive spirtedly with the valve closed if ur car and the tune will go funky or not. just incase say I have the fam in the car and i need to get pass someone. I understand it won't make the same power as the valve being open but would the car be ok with the added backpressure
