Squash Performance Evo X fuel system - tester needed ASAP!

Hi Guys and Gals,

Squash Performance has designed a dual in-tank fuel system for the Evo X but we can't seem to find anyone locally to test fit the unit. The test units will be machined and ready to ship out by Monday next week and we plan to debut the system at Sema 2012 at the end of October. If you want to be that tester please PM me or call. I will make it well worth your trouble....

It's a very nice system that is almost all CNC machined billet aluminum, but reuses the stock bucket and houses two DW200 or DW300 pumps. It works with the stock jet pump system to pull fuel from the other side of the saddle tank as well. I've read about the issues with lean conditions when the tank starts to empty the other side of the tank but I think we have that problem licked...

I don't have a nice 3D render of the unit done, but here's one we did for the Evo 7/8/9 unit:

That looks really nice but are the DW pumps the only pump choice you use? Also I see AN connections on the 7-9 displayed, is the one for the X like that too? I'd be willing to possibly be the test car for this if it's a complete drop in type deal, as in i'm not really trying to upgrade my fuel lines etc...

The bucket just isn't large enough to hold two of the fat-bottom Walbros if that's what you mean. Two DW300's will support lots of horsepower. The bucket itself has room for one DW300 and one 267 Walbro fat bottom pumps but there is no way to put two fat bottoms in there.

It has o-ring ports on top so you can run -6 or -8 lines, similar to the 789 unit. Obviously it's a completely different design, but the same idea.

We try to make things like this a drop-in as much as possible. The limitation on the EVOs is the size of the return orifice in the stock FPR though. We'll figure it out and make what's need to make it work.

Right now we have a unit that will hold two DW pumps and drop into the tank on the EVO X. It has -8 o-ring ports on top and it's supplied with choice of -6 or -8 90 degree AN fittings. We are going through a little update this week on it, but this is a tried and true design that we've used with a lot of other cars with a bucket like this one. Here's an example of one:

We need to do some measuring and test fitting on an EVO X because, as you see in this photo, this doesn't have the pressure sensor on it, and we would prefer to have fittings situated like what you see on the majority of our other products.

As far as connecting to the stock supply line, with our units there is no longer a filter in the bucket. There are socks on the pumps obviously, but you need to run an external filter. That's the tradeoff that comes with filling the bucket with pumps...

I should clarify my statement above about the fat bottom Walbros. We can fit two in the stock bucket if the height of the tank will allow it. We don't yet have a tank to check this yet.

I figured I'd offer to help out but I don't really want to run an adjustable FPR and upgrade my lines and run an external filter. This is a good opportunity for someone who is building a high hp fuel system to get in on though for sure!! Good to see more options being offered to the Evo community.

Hmmm, im in the twin cities, and have a -6AN feed line, fuel lab external filter and modified return with my stock fuel assembly. Using a hardwired wally 400 right now, supports 630whp+ on e85.

I'm very tempted as you say you have some of the issues fixed of the stock design but I don't see how your setup will do that honestly. With my power levels I can't run much below half a tank as I empty the basket too quick.

When our unit is finalized I'd be happy to send you one to check for yourself. At 1/2 tank you will not have any problems with the bucket going dry with our setup.

I'd consider testing one out, it will have to be spring time though, my evo gets garage treatment now, too much invested to go snowplowing.

Correct, I also don't see how this is better than any other double pumper. I still think the same crappy fuel issues will be present. I simplified my setup from a double pumper and its been a lot better. So to go back I'd have to have some very clear reasons how it fixes everything.

It is a completely different concept than BR's. We don't cut the bucket away at all and the jet pump arrangement is reworked. I can't give away all the specifics (probably said too much already) but I'm willing to put it up against anything on the market. You can doubt, but I'm willing to put up parts and reputation to prove otherwise.
