Evo X final drive feeler
you will have more dummies bending their rods with this beczasuse dummies dont know to down**** instead of flooring their car in high car at 2500 rpms and with the lower final drive you are maximizing stress on the rods. not a good idea unless you want to blow more engines and are a mechanic to make money fixing them...
I have the shep final drive in my car. If I rev to over 8k I am not out of boost on the next shift. Also I wouldnt want any shorter gears as the shifts come fast enough as it is. Its nice to be able to cruise in 4th gear at 60mph and reserve 5th gear for interstate driving at over 70mph
So John are you going to be testing this?
I would love to see the outcome. When the time comes to do my clutch install I would prefer to drop the trannie and do the gear swap at the same time

I'd only be interested in this if it doesn't affect the 1/4 mile times much, and didn't see any data on the VIII IX thread either. It is very tempting however to not be at almost 4K at 80mph.
4.0 is too much of a highway gear. I think it's going to drive terrible even on a stock turbo. Don't think anyone needs a gear to take the Evo past 200. It wasn't build for that and I can just see someone trying it because they have the engine Build for it but forgets about everything else.

Bumping this since we have a little under half the people we need to get it made. We'll test it at the drag strip if we find the right car, but as it is 1/4 mile times suffer in the X because of how low geared it is. Luke runs the same times on the 4.0 as he has with the 4.529, it takes a little more finesse to launch for sure.
The EVOX gearing is way to short as is honestly I think thats the main reason why they run such terrible 1/4 mile times considering the power they make, I really dont think the additional weight affects it but so much. The only reason why I havent bought an EVO X is because of the extremely short gearing and terrible gas mileage. No offense to current X owners.

Me personally I'm just spending this whole year trying to drive my car better no sense looking for more power at this point.
