Connecting Rod Specs and Info

Hey guys, I am a mechanical engineering student and am about to begin a project for school. My project is to design and build a connecting rod, and since I own an Evo X that has yet to be built, I figured I would build a set of rods that I could run in my own car. I have access to Solidworks 3D and all the stress analysis and testing software as well. After it is designed I would have it cut on a 5 axis-CNC machine that I have access to. I have looked over the technical specifications for the connecting rod and could only find the two diameters and the distance from the center of each hole. What other information would be useful in designing a new rod. I have looked at Extreme Tuner's billet Evo X rods and figure I will follow that similar design in my own rods. Any input, especially on dimensions and such would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
