Coming up on my 45k service interval

So I'm at 40k as of this morning. Going to change my oil this weekend. I was just looking at the service intervals for my X and kind of wanted to get some input as to how much everyone on here has paid for the 45K service if done at the dealer.

From what I've seen this is everything that needs to be done. (FYI I have a 2010 model, GSR)
-Replace air cleaner element
-Manual transaxle oil (CHECK)
-Tranfer oil (CHECK)
-ACD/AYC fluid (CHECK)
-Check brake hoses
-Check ball joints and steering linkage seals
-Check drive shaft boots (inspect for damage and leaks)
-Check suspension system (inspect for looseness and damage)
-Replace air purifier filter

I called the dealer today to get an estimate but they said they'll have to get to me on Monday. I just want to make sure I don't get screwed here. I am under the impression that it shouldn't be TOO much considering they're only "checking" the fluids and not "replacing" them. Any input here from those of you that actually go to the dealer for service intervals?

My suggestion is forget the dealer and do all the above yourself... it will not take long (or require hardly any tools) and you'll learn a lot more about your car

^what he said. Its easy and its free. All youll need is a flathead for those clips on the undertray, a 10mm socket for the small bolts on the undertray, some jackstands (really need four as the vehicle should be level to properly check the transaxle fluid), a 17mm bolt for the transaxle fill plug ( take off and slip in your finger...fluid level should be just below the fill plug), flashlight to inspect the boots on the driveaxles (looking for tears on the boot and any excess dust and debris that might suggest that grease is leaking out), not entirely sure what size the transfer case fill bolt is but I would imagine it would also be a 17mm (located on tge side of the case)...fluid check is same as the transaxle.. brake lines are also visually inspected for excess debris/kinks/tears or scarring..Ball joints are easy to check (with the vehicle in the air grab the tire at the 12 and 6 position amd attempt to move/apply pressure by pulling with one arm and pushing with the other...then switch...if there us excessive play then your joints are bad...check all four tires). Your ACD fluid is located in the trunk to the right behind a carpet colored cover (should be between the max and min if not at tge max level)...air filter check and replacement is easy ( pop the retainer clips on the air box and remove filter...replace if necessary). As far as the suspension system check goes ( with the tire off inspect the strut around the base of tge piston and look for any debris that could indicate a leak and then grab the strut and give a shake...if nothing clunks around congrats...your suspension is fine). That sums your service up ..a couple basic hand tools and BAM!...you just saved yourself some money. Regular service should be done by the owner not just to save cash but to aid the owner in knowing his/her vehicle.

Hope this helps and I hope you decide to take a couple hours out of your day to save some cash.

Also...the cabin air filter is located behind the glove box...drop the glove box by removing the piston to the right and pushing in on the clips...once tge glove box is out of the way you can see the cover for your cabin air...youll know what to do

Thank you for the advice . As I'm still fairly new to the car though I may try and see if I could get a fellow X owner in the area to aid me with the "inspection" That way there will be a second opinion.
