As far as best bang for the buck...def the Depo racing UICP that you can get on Ebay or from the DepoRacing website, set you back about $100...good reviews and no fitment issues. The test pipe...I would look into the CNT race pipe... $115 with free shipping. Its stainless, intergrated downpipe/testpipe combination...its resonated and not only comes with the necessary hardware but also has a spare bung for your wideband aswell as the necessary O2 extension for your rear O2. O had no fitment issues what so ever with it and picked up an additional 30whp. So $215 for parts and then whatever for your retune...your set. You really cant beat that combination.

I'm running ETS test pipe and Injen UICP, both high quality. May not be the lowest cost combination out there, but I have been very happy with the fitment and quality.

I'm looking at getting the AMS big mouth down pipe. After reading Sunwalker2, I bought the $100 UIC pipe. Now need the best bang for the buck test pipe or high flow cat. Looks like the Invidia is the best bang for cat back.

FWIW I have had a recent bad experience with that TimTam guy at Dep0 Racing over a UICP. He sent the wrong order, refused to answer emails and in the end gave a partial refund but I got shafted on the postage. And I still don't have a UICP.

Mate of mine had a similar experience with one of his customers. Sent the wrong part and refused to budge. Stay away from this guy.

For the UICP, I just bought the Muse (vrsf) 1-piece 2.5inch Stainless Steel for $165 shipped (incl'd t-bolt clamps and silicone couplers). I bought this for 3 reasons: 1- most ppl recommend stainless steel because they don't bend as easily as aluminum pipes and out of all used aluminum UICPs I've seen, none of them has come out in a circular shape which significantly affects performance without you noticing at all. 2- most ppl prefer a 1 piece (running from turbo all the way to intercooler) since there's less chance of leaks and hold boost much better.. plus, there's a reason why they tend to run a little more expensive than the 2 or 3 piece ones. 3- They're in sale right now in the Vendor 'For Sale' Classifieds and quality looks pretty good; at the end, a pipe is a pipe as long as it is made out of real stainless steel. Also, once I receive it and install it, I'll write a review on it as part of the special discount, but some ppl have already commented that this is a great piece.

In regards to the test pipe, I bought a used AMS test pipe for $100 cuz they don't use clamps of course (so no bending) and you can't go wrong with AMS in quality or performance.

Hope this helps anyone reading this.

We have a full upper pipe and test pipe available. Our test pipe also has a bend (just like the factory pipe) no vibration or rattling problems here.

Thanks!!

Michael

So is there only one cat on this car where the test pipe goes? the DP looks too small to have a cat in it, but IDK....I moved to WA and they do emissions every two years on 08 or older (and of course I have the 08 Evo >.<) ....I want to do a test pipe, but I don't know if it's worth running into emissions issues every two years...any ideas as to what I should do? I had plans to do test pipe and drive down to english racing for a tune...

thoughts? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-Lancer-Evo-X-Testpipe-O2-bung-front-pipe-Highflow-Catless-Testpipe-/280921143728?hash=item41683479b0&vxp=mtr
