Just an update here, I have an appt with a local shop this Friday to flush the ACD pump and replace with some new fluid. I'll update again after that and post the results of the flush. If that doesn't work, then it's on to rebuilding the pump. Which I plan on having the same shop do.

Thanks for keeping us updated mshilto89. Will be interesting to see if a flush resolves the issue. Hope it does so you can fully enjoy your new ride

Have you heard from anyone if you can safely drive without the AYC pump? Just curious if pulling the fuse and driving without would cause any issues down the line if one didn't have have cash to rebuild or replace it?

I have heard of people driving for well over a year with the pump being shot out. Haven''t heard anything from anyone regarding just yanking the fuse out and driving without it. Maybe some guys that track their cars have done this?

Pfft... that really ought to be covered under warrant. This is BS. Can a guy fill out a safety complaint about this even if you havent had the issue? lol. I'm gonna try.

Been without my Evo for going on a week now. Dealer gave me a Buick Verano as a rental. I have to say, while the Buick is VERY comfortable, I miss my Evo like crazy right now.

Is the dealer installing a new pump or rebuilding it? Sorry about Buick bro, LOL. I'm sure you are having Evo withdrawals.

So someway, somehow, the dealer is going to take care of the ACD pump. I don't know how yet, but since I went in the other day they have been VERY helpful. I guess I'll find out when I get the car back. At this point I'm not sure if they're just covering the pump under the powertrain warranty, or if they're footing the bill out of pocket. New pump should be in by tomorrow and then they can install it. Hopefully this will resolve all the issues. As of right now, I know as much as you guys know.

Either way, if this issue is fully taken care of, my faith in dealerships will be restored. I'm not going to say the name of the dealer just yet, but after everything is done, and taken care of I will.
