Air in fuel line?

I thought I might have had some bad gasoline, so I drained the tank by connecting a hose to the return side of the FPR and idled the engine. This worked to get the fuel out.

However, I was using a clear hose and noticed the fuel was coming out with a steady stream of air bubbles in it. The hose was tight around the nipple of the FPR.

Is this normal, or do I have a fuel system problem? The car has not been running properly, which is why I drained the tank in the first place.

Thanks.
