Evo X GSR Tranny Summary Question

someone hear my plea and answer my questions. I have read my way through many of the thread regarding the front diff and tranny failures. I have the money for and evo and am very serious about buying one, its a matter of finding the right one…

I have a fried with a all stage 2 2011 wry. He bags and launches and quick shifts that car like I've never seen anyone do. and the car is doing fine.
is the gar tranny week or not. Sti guys argue they are while many mitsu guys say their way better then the sit tranny.
i don't know who to believe
many people are saying the pins in the front diff are causing the failure due to lube because of mitsus design fault. Some people are saying this was fixed in the 2011+ models. this is all speculation. Some people say its modding that the tranny can't handle while some say stock trannys go to. Is it the launching or being in the wrong mode (gravel, snow, tarmac) or excessive wheel spin in snow/ drifting that causes this.

I am tempted to ditch buying an evo altogether because i don't want the repair costs. Its my dream car.

many of the threads were older with arguing facts.

99% of them have no issue
the other 1% throw fits on the internet and play mechanical engineer
I've owned 3 X's. The first two were GSR's and I had no issues. I also owned an STi, didn't have issues with it, either.
Abuse will ruin any tranny, X or STi.
In general, no, it is not a weak transmission.

this being said. i would be fine drifting it in rain or on snow all the time and it should be good. especially snow because theres no torque on the diff because theres no traction?
