I feel dumb for this, however, after removing all the bolts around the side and separateing the halves enough to see the locator pins cleared, what is the trick to separateing it any farther? Shifter is out. I just can't seem to split it any farther.

 

Quite a bit more to remove than just the bolts. Switches, select lever, control housing, springs, reverse idler bolt, etc...
