Centre diff problem? Clunk clunk...
My 2010 GSR has started to make a rhythmic clunking noise under braking. It has 35K or so, diffs have had fluids changed around 30K (diaqueen gear oil, SP 3 ATF). Transmission was drained and refilled at 27K during a clutch swap. I did not remove the transfer case for that.
When I rotate the passenger side wheel, there is about 5 degrees of free movement of the driveshaft then a solid metal clunk. Feels like slack in the Centre diff. Is that much movement normal?
Brake discs seem true, and there is no vibration at the pedal. Could be the driveshaft failed as well. I think the 50000 drivetrain warranty would cover that.
Any ideas?
