How hot does a ACD/AYC Pump Get?

A little background into my situation. I live in Canada, my pump died, and when I tried to rebuild it, it was so corroded that the aluminium and plate crumbled.

I am considering moving it to the trunk. It looks like it will move easily after I make some new lines and a bracket. My only concern is the heat the pump will generate. Any ideas if it is too hot?

it will not corrode again if you take care and seal it well when overhauling. The additional problem on the Evo X is the motor which looks more fragile than the earlier units, and is not as easily servicable. The pump is also not as well cooled as on the earlier cars and I think this is also a part of the problem.

 

My son's AYC pump just took a dump on him yesterday. Temp was about 97. AYC started flashing. He took his X to a dealer and yes, the pump had severe corrosion and needs to be replaced. Good news is that it will be fixed under warranty. I just hope that this does happen again in another 2 years as he has a 2011 GSR and has driven it through 2 winters.

 

apply silicone sealant on the joints between two parts of the pump body, and between the motor and pump body, and also apply heavy grease on the bottom of the solenoids, where they enter the pump body..
