exhaust then tune up?

Hey guys, I'm getting an Invidia N1 catback on my 2012 EvoX. I had a friend who recommended that I needed to get a tune because of the turbo and intake. Is this true? my car is still stock. If so, does anyone where i can take it? i'm from the LA area.

A catback doesnt really require a tune, more for sound purposes than anything. Save the tune for when you do intake, downpipe, test pipe etc.

Wouldn't it need the tune so the ECU can account for the air intake and exhaust?

You said only the cbe. That's not goibg to really give you any gains or effect your afrs enough that you'd need a tune.

These cars run a mass air system, which compensates for changes in flow to a certain degree. Generally you can do 1 or 2 mods (intake/catback exhaust) and still be safe. Once you get a full exhaust you will need a tune. That being said, you will always gain some power and driveabiliy with a proper custom tune. That being said, I would save your money on the tune until you do full exhaust/intake.
