Hello everyone, today before getting into my car I noticed black residue on the the

exhaust (picture provided). I have a 2013 Evo X MR with 4k miles. Any help/advice

It's because stock map is rich enough to make your exhaust gets dirty

IMO a tune isn't going to fix this issue because you will still run pretty rich at wide open throttle so you don't blow up the motor... Any turbo car is going to have black residue on the exhaust.. I have stage 2 with a tune and my titanium tips are black from the carbon residue. Hope this helps!

It makes me happy when I look at my tips and they are covered in carbon.

Get used to it, a tune won't change the fact we burn a ton of fuel under full-boost.

On a similar note. My tailgate get FILTHY from doing at least one full pull per day. Does anyone know the best way to get it off. I swear if I don't clean it every single day it gets extremely hard to get all the carbon off.

Lots of elbow grease. I have some dark "burnt" spots from WOT flames on my bumper. Some light cut polish and a good wax helps there.

A brillo pad and cleaner will get the exhaust tips.
