I've heard the stories about the clutch master cylinder breaking. Mine has had zero problems and I'm running a spec stage 3 clutch. I received a recall to replace with a new upgraded version of it. Should I take that new one or stick with the reliable one the car came with. I guess what it breaks down to is, is the new one truly better? I ask also because I just replaced fluid with motul. The dealer requires a full fluid flush. I'll have to buy more motul because I don't want stock in there.

The new CMC is much stronger in design. Being a 2008 with an aftermarket clutch, I'd get the recall done sooner rather than later. I'm sure your dealer will allow you to supply your own fluid so bring them a liter of your choosing (but ask this question when you make your appointment).

i got it done, asked them to check a leaky CV boot and they voided my suspension warranty because of my coilovers "throwing off the suspension geometry.."

new CMC feels good though

Dispute it. I'm lowered and got a leaky CV boot replaced.

That's what I wanted to know. The new one is much stronger. I have zero warranty on my evo because there are hardly any oem parts left on it. No worries there. I spoke to the dealer about the fluid. They told me that they would put my fluid in and just give me a quart of there fluid to take home. The dealership here is really good to me. Thank god to because there is not another anywhere near me. They keep trying to buy my car off me but don't want to sell. Sorry for the warranty void to the person with coilovers. The thing that never makes since to me is the service department makes good money off of recalls and warranty work. They charge Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi pays the dealer.

From this I infer that the service writer is a liar or pinhead.

You can dispute any warranty denial. It's a federal law.

If Mitsubishi is still using the National Center for Dispute Settlement, you call them (as in: NCDS) and get the form sent to you. Or maybe you can get it off the web.

What fluid should I buy? I have an appointment for this Wednesday to get mine replaced.

What are your views on replacing the the CMC line with the AMS upgrade?

They provide the fluid.

My advice with regard to replacing the line is to not do it at the same time. They'll make a note of it if you do (plus charge you too much).

I like the motul synthetic. It has a higher boiling point for aggressive driving. My dealer had no problem putting the ams cmc braided line in [I]. It added no extra work. Of coarse my whole car is out of warranty do to age and the massive amounts of modification done to it.

My car has 6K miles and only half a year old...should I do the cmc replacement? Dealer promises the stock will eventually go bad anyway. I just hate when parts of a new car are tampered with (including removing/putting back other parts that are in the way)
