Why not do it yourself? The intake is a very basic upgrade and not worth paying an exorbitant amount of money for a shop to do.

Well first i have tried Google and looked up shops but it doesnt tell me if they know anything about my car second i would do it my self but with someone as important as my car to me i dont even trust my self to swap out parts on it so would rather pay someone to do it the right way the first time.

Might want to check with the folks in your region for a reputable shop.

If you do things yourself, you learn a ton about your car. Intake is maybe the easiest upgrade you can do yourself on this car. Besides a shorty antenna lol.

Understanding how your car works makes a huge difference. Unless you don't care about that and just want to turn the key and go fast. Labor will cost as much as the intake lol. Man up and do it yourself. Would you pay someone to replace your battery in your car? or in your remote?

Intake is simple. If you don't plan on getting some wrench time in and learning about your car, then maybe an evo isn't for you.

Cobb in Plano did all the tuning, alignments, and turbo installs on my X.

Why are people so concerned about him preferring to pay a professional shop to do the installs for him? Obviously, his time and peace of mind is worth more to him than saving a few bucks on the install. Some enjoy wrenching, others would rather spend their time driving, to each their own.

The intake install is excellent for getting acquainted with your car. It will give you the ability and confidence to tackle future jobs. If you want to pay someone to do simple jobs go ahead, but I prefer to use my money elsewhere.

Plus some intakes require MAF scaling in order to run right, which Cobb would be able to do at the time of install.

Didn't think of MAF scaling.

If you're going to do more mods you should install them all at once and then get a tune.
