3 port, fuel pump, and tune

Hey guys! I'm very new to the Evo tuning (I just got my Evo X on Thursday) and was wondering what whp numbers to expect if I put in a walbaro 255 fuel pump, grim speed 3 port boost controller, a drop in air filter, and had the car dyno tuned. The car already has borla exhaust so exhaust is already covered. The car is a 2010 with the SST transmission.
Thanks for your help!

Don't know that a fuel pump will do much for you with those mods. Hfc or test pipe would be a better investment.

Hard to answer your question. But I would guess 325 TQ/ 330 HP and this might be pushing it a bit.

Ok. I was reading the Evo modding for dummies thread and noticed that they recommended the walbaro 255 fuel pump and thats why I put it on the list. The borla exhaust on my car is cat back so I understand why the high flow cat would be beneficial. I think ill also give strictly modified a call and see what they recommend. They are a well respected shop in my area.
Thanks for your response!

I have been doing some research about the high flow cat/ test pipe and notice people say that sometimes they cause the car to throw a check engine light. Does anything happen to the car limiting performance if the cel comes on? Can it be tuned out? Is it ok to drive it with the cel on? (as long as it is just from the test pipe).

Any good tuner should be able to turn off the cat checks.

Also, the CEL itself won't change the running of the car at all. It's just a check.

The mods you are thinking about are a good base and the car should feel great with those parts and a good tune. 50-70+ whp gains are the norm. Enjoy it!

Thank you so much! I am really excited to get these mods put on my car!

I think the modding thread you were looking at was for the 8/9? The Evo X fuel pump doesn't really need to be replaced until you're going with bigger mods. I'd take that money and put it somewhere else for now...

Numbers-wise, it will depend on the dyno. Razorlab is right though, should be somewhere in that ballpark of gains from your baseline.

I called a shop in my area today and they said to do a Grimm speed EBC, test pipe, short ram air intake, fuel pump, and a tune. With parts, labor, and taxes the quote came out to about $1,418

I am hoping to hit 300whp with the mods I put in the original post. After that my next goal will be 400whp

You should hit right around 300 with those mods on an MR - especially with a test pipe instead of hfc.

400 awhp on SST is quite a load. Im not 100% sure which thread it was but ive read a couple of people talking about the SST clutches starting to slip at those numbers. either way, good luck with the mods!
