Autolite XP5701 Sparkplugs.
Has anyone run the AUTOLITE XP5701 sparkplugs yet??
By their new catalog this should be 2 steps colder than the stock plug, and at about $7.00 a plug this sounds very good!

well considering Autolite has been around about as long as both NGK and HKS combined and is not the best choice for our cars then I think that tells you everything in spades....not that any harm would come from them I didn't say they were junk or anything...they are the official plug of NASCAR after all lol
There's plenty of threads here that discuss using "other" spark plugs and the general consensus is to stick with the OEM Mitsu (NGK) or HKS. If you want to try them to save a few bucks, that's great but I'd have a back up plan like keeping the old plugs handy to swap in case of issues.

Damn forgot about NASCAR....lol!!!
I prefer NGK, but finding an NGK plug in a step or two colder heat range, and readily available, is a bit different.

if you're looking at it in a catalog, chances are that autolite incorrectly lists their plugs as being able to fit the evo. They do not. They only fit the lancer. Atleast that was my experience with autozone, o'reilly's, advanced autoparts.....

Good point! I recently walked into Advance AP and AutoZone and neither of them carried the NGK plugs for the Evo X anymore. They said something about the part number changing. I just ended up ordering them from Amazon b/c with shipping it was cheaper than Lancershop.com.

I have a set now, regapped them to .022 and will install later this weekend.
I was hoping that a tuner would have some experience with these and would post. My laptop is gone so logging with these is not gonna happen for awhile.

My NGK's became a bit fouled up after 20k. They still worked but combustion wasn't even and perfect. Must be why my tuner reccomends you swap them at 20k, which kinda sucks cause iridium is supposed to last like 70k..
Is there a good way to clean these plugs to make htem new again? Or are we stuck replacing them?
