MAF honeycomb in 2014 GSR?

Hey guys I read a ton of posts but I just wish somebody could clarify this for me. I had an idle fluctuation on my 2014 GSR with 4000 miles. I took apart the intake and noticed that there was no type of honeycomb on the MAF. I saw prior year evo xs have honeycombs. A tech from my local mitsubishi said 2014s do not come with these honeycomb. Can any 2014 owners clarify this for me?

It uses a single wire thermistor. No resistor screen. This means your intake needs to be designed to aid laminar flow, which the OEM intake is. Laminar air and turbulent air follow different laws governing their flow through a tube. This is why slapping a cone filter on the end of the maf tube, without changing the tube, will result in your maf calc load being off by different percentages in different areas.
