Changing ATF SP3 on AYC

There's 129 threads online about this. I thought you could drain and fill the ATF SP3 on the torque transfer side.

I was talking to a guy at the dealership the other day that said it has to be bled with the MUT-3. I'm hoping he is wrong.

Has anyone changed the SP3 themself? I thought it could be changed with a simple drain and fill because the fluid in the pump and lines is separated from the fluid bathing the clutches in the AYC.

I drained and filled mine at the rear diff. Topped off the trunk tank, drove for a bit, then checked the trunk tank again to make sure it stayed topped off. I haven't had any issues, but that doesn't mean my way is best.

It's a drain and fill unless you run the reservoir dry

Makes sense. I'm going to try your way.

How often do you guys change the side with SP3?

I do it every 15k or so. FYI, the fill hole is a ***** to find. Definitely look it up before you start. I found 3 that were blank holes before finding the actual fill.
