I would be far more worried about that MAP turbo then any AMS anything.

Actually the turbo has been through decent power for about 5k miles (400whp) and hasn't given me any issues. Without starting a which is the best turbo thread. I would love to own a FP, but since the EF has held up and is still good maybe once I recoup some funds from the motor build I will swap them out.

I think MAP puts out some good products, you just hear about more failures on the forums ect ect than other major brands. Which makes other skeptical.

It's great to learn here and I agree.

Agreed. AMS also like using Precision turbos which concern me. I think they will be better off offering packages for BorgWarner turbos, like BW EFR 7163 (550 bhp) and BW EFR 7670 (650 bhp). I think CBRD is developing a package for BorgWarner turbos for the Evo, and I'm still waiting to see the results.

Yea funny how turbos alone cost about 1/4 of an entire engine build. Oh well little at a time

I have an AMS 2.3RR Stroker motor I was lucky enough to find for 12k, brand new. A big financial dump, but as far as engine quality and performance, I have no complaints, I have about 20k on the engine since the install, it has only seen street driving so far, i have my eyes on a couple other things before I track it. As far as accompanying modifications I'm running a ported FP black turbo, ported stock ex mani, 2200cc injectors kelford 280 cams, and a rev 3 intake mani. I'm at a comfortable 500whp on 30psi. Only issue I've ran into is my catch can not being able to support the crank case pressure, soon to be fixed. You will enjoy your AMS block and I don't foresee any issues with your application.

It seems as though I might have trouble hitting 500 with my turbo. But why haven't you pushed your engine further? 500 on your setup seems like your only using the mods for about 1/2 of their performance.
I was told with my 1000 ID and my pump along with my motor, I should be able to hit 500whp but my turbo will be my hold back.

As of right now, I'm just waiting on a couple small things, I need a larger catch can, the one I have isn't supporting the amount of crank case pressure being put out, and my turbo could use a rebuild. Once those are done I'm throwing in an e85 map, and I know from previous experience it will have no problem reaching around 650 whp. I just had a conservative tune thrown on because the engine was brand new and it was being used as my daily driver.
