So one of my connecting rods snapped and shot a couple holes through the short block casing. So I went to buy a 4b11 short block used from Works here in norcal. Thing is I bought it without a girdle thinking mine was okay. It turned out to have gotten shot by the rod as well. So now I have everything I got to get the car running again except for the block girdle.

I cant find anywhere to purchase a girdle for the block. If I did they don't sell it separately. I haven't contacted Mitsubishi yet either thinking its the same for them. I understand if i do get my hands on another girdle I do have to get it machined with the new block. Can anyone appoint me to find a girdle to pick up please. My car has been down for a really long time and I need it running again.

Call works and see if they have one? Kind of silly to sell a block without the girdle...

 

when i sent my motor to buschur for the build they specifically told me to remove the girdle so as not to damage and that they where not available by themselves. i hope you get your car back up and running soon

 

They are not available separate and are infact two different styles. They are interchangeable but may need additional parts to make them work. You wont know until you find one and try to install it.
