Accidentally shifting into first after red lining second
Wow you're actually an ******* LOL I drove my brother's 2011 Civic Si for around 6 months while he was at a co-op in Ohio working at Honda. So don't come to me with that ****. Not to mention that I pay 2/3 of this car myself, so don't come to me with that daddy **** either. The car has almost 800 miles on it so the break-in is done. I can redline whenever I want. Honestly, I was told to stay off the forums because apparently people were rude but I didn't think they were this rude. You're also a piece of **** for thinking that this age group is dumb. Yeah, a lot of them are stuck on their phones all day and the rest are smoking weed. Why don't you just respect the fact that instead of doing the kind of stuff that my friends do (drinking, partying, smoking weed, LSD) I've found refuge in another thing; Cars. Yeah I like to redline my $35k car often. Deal with it. It's better than lying to my parents saying I'm going to the library then going and getting ****ed up with my homies. Man, stay off this thread. I need the opinions of people who are knowledgable and friendly. Not the 2 cents of someone who has misplaced anger and bashes on a kid for being able to afford an Evo at age 17.
He's right... you didn't misshift because of notchiness, you misshifted because of inexperience.
Learn to drive your car before you start beating the **** out of it. You sound like you at least got your head on staight when it comes to life, but you're acting like... a child behind the wheel of a car you can easily kill yourself in. Banging redline in an Evo with ZERO experience isn't the smartest thing to do in life
Take it to the track and learn to drive.
With THAT out of the way...
Just to be safe, I would take other's suggestions and knock out the tests just for peace of mind. The car might sound fine, act fine, and drive fine, but with your extremely limited time behind the wheel of that car it's gonna be hard for you to tell if there's something slightly "off" with it.
The trans will shift a lot smoother as the miles rack up. Enjoy the car and be careful. Just don't be that "douche" kid in an evo. Respect your car and the roads and enjoy it at the right times.
Many people will recommend a premature oil change at 500-1000 miles to get rid of the break in oil...

2. 6mths driving a manual car doesn't mean anything. You need more practice, especially if you are going to be redlining and banging gears 4-6 times a day.
3. Forums are an extremely helpful tool, if you know how to utilize it.
4. If you are excessively launching the car: stop. Stop now. You'll burn through that OEM clutch in no time, or wreck your drivetrain. Try explaining that to your parents.
5. Paying 2/3 of the car note isn't exactly "being able to afford an Evo".
Your power goals are modest and on the right track. You won't need to swap injectors unless you plan to run E85. Stock injectors are plenty for FBO and stock turbo.
As mentioned above, if you haven't done so, change your oil.
Enjoy the car. Drive safe.
I "kinda" knew what I was doing when I first bought my Evo. One bad launch at 8000 miles was all it took to kill my stock clutch. Keep in mind, this one bad launch was AFTER i had experience launching it over 50 times at the track.
i'd L O V E for my parents to pay for 1/3 of my car. i know of a guy that is having one given to him once he graduates college. i wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth just so i can claim i pay for my entire car on my own. f that LOL
His parents won a small fortune a few years back...about 15 mil!

All too common. A million goes faster than we'd like to think. Personally, I could set myself up for life. And my son.
I would recommend doing a event before you make any changes. simple seeming things like changing out sway bars will effect what class you run in. I would recommend keeping the car in bs rules if you can. but things like a tune and suspension will bump you out of it. asp will allow some mods but it is very quick to end up in sm

I'll loan you my Honda to practice and beat on while I drive the evo
