Transmission doesn't shift smoothly

so i just bought a 2013 evo x with 28000 miles and the shifts from first to second can be pretty rough sometimes. I know theres already threads about this problem and they say that chaining the fluid can help. But I'm planning on installing a short shifter any way so would that help at all? or maybe new bushings?

My notchiness improved with my short shifter. It also improved with the upgraded bushings I've installed. Each component you upgrade should help, look in to underhood bushings, shifter base bushings, things along those lines. They're affordable and easy to install.

Theoretically, any modification can void your warranty. If you're planning on a short shifter anyway, the bushings will be no worse than replacing your factory shifter.

I have a 2012 and hated the shifting feel. Bought the TWM full replacement assembly and replaced all bushings. Added a heavy shift knob from TWM as well.

Now the shifts are amazing. But not the cheapest route either...

Redline Cocktail boys. It helps with shifting. These transmissions are notorious for being notchy.
