Boost Leak? Spool? Transmission Problem? WTH!!

OK so I purchased an 08 MR about 3 months ago. I've been having problem after problem with it. Majority have been fixed.

My main concern now is I was throwing a lean code on the stock tune...I think? I purchased an access port and flashed it to stage 2 since I have all the qualifying mods for it...it kicked out the CEL but I'm noticing a really loud sound of air starting at like 2k rpm. It sounds bad a** to me lol but something tells me it's not normal.

The stage 2 map also says peak boost is ~23.5psi and I'm lucky if I can get 18psi.

The air sound is really loud and is there even when I'm not hitting boost.

I took it to a shop here in town that works on Evos, STi's, SRT's and all that good stuff and had them run a boost leak test and they said nothing came back negative. The motor, turbo, piping, vacuum everything is sound.

They said nothing about the loud sound of air spewing out somewhere but did mention the only reason I could he only pushing 18psi is the gearbox inside of the SST? That the transmission when faulty can't handle the right amount of boost the tune provides so it stops it at ~18psi. I'm not too sure how true that is...

I know I'm all over the place with this thread but I'm trying to explain it as clear as possible lol thanks for your help in advance

I could be a simpleton but I don't think the SST controls boost in any way. I would run a boost leak test yourself to see what happens. You can either buy a boost leak tester or build your own for cheap. Do you have a Wideband and boost gauge? If not I wouldn't hit boost until you do.
