As far as cams go with the GSC S2, beehive springs and retainers. They are perfectly fine for daily and the new ones are billet core. I love them in my car.
Turbo, honestly man forget the FP red. It's yesterdays news.
I have the GTX3576 as many others do and I really like it, but it seems that EFR is really the way to go these days.
You have options..
You could buy a stock frame manifold, a GTX series turbo and DP of your choice OR a RB-X kit from CBRD since you already have piping OR a Full Race EFR kit 7670 or 8374.
Those would be my suggestions.
If you're dead set on getting cams get the S2s, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the info...I was looking at the efr t4 7670 kit seems really nice and would easily be able to hit my goals with that but would having e85 be to much?

I'm pretty set on s2s just gotta build up the confidence to install them myself...2g for labor is assinine

Does the gtx turbo require a different manifold and dp? If so what do u recommend?

$2,000 to install cams?? 5150 charged me $500 to install my cams, springs & retainers. Something isn't right with the price you were quoted.

A Full Race 7670 kit on E85 would be fine on a stock block. Heck even a 8374 on stock block would be fine. I'd go Full Race 8374 kit I were to start over from scratch honestly. As long as you have a good tuner that knows what they're doing you'll be completely fine.

The GTX3576 I have is by ATP and is designed to work with the stock manifold and DP, so any manifold or DP that works with the stock turbo will work with the ATP GTX3576. I personally have the AMS DP and MAP investment cast manifold because it's a freaking tank and will never crack like stock manifolds do.

You'll probably want to get a new intake if you upgrade the turbo as well. The AEM is nice, but will be a restriction at that point.

Any other questions just ask!

Heres some Mustang dyno charts for reference (all stock block):

8374 stock block on E85

You can always check out my build journal to see 3576 with cams only using 91

Even more good info thanks. Wish more people like u would chime in but this is very helpful. Looks like in the quote they would charge 20 hrs for the install at $100 an hr....such a rip off I'd rather try myself and let the car sit for a year if that's how long it took then spend 2k+ for them to do it. If I can figure out a way to post the quote I will

What shop was this? Do you have any shops within driving distance that specialize in EVOs?
Will MAP do the install for you or can you drive to Driven Fab or AMS?

Quantum performance there located in port Washington wi. Like 5 min. From my house never been there tho only couple years in business They have a Mustang dyno and cobb pro tuned. So I also got a charge for a 500 cobb ap haha....I dont believe they necessarily specialize in evos tho. Ams is 2 hours tops just had a bad experience with them back with my first x. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ease-help.html

My tuner in that thread was ams....they never fixed it ended up selling every mod then trading it in Stock cause they ruined my whole evo owning experience....my car now tho was tuned at strictly modified.

Yeah it was rough. My tuner did try to adjust it but it never completely went away and shifting around town was just a pain. Being a new customer to ams tho and going through what I went through it was hard to get back into another evo but that's just how much I like this car. I won't go have them tune my car again tho.

Has anyone accomplished 500whp with an 18k. I really like that little guy cause it's cheap. I'd love to say I'd be the first 500 whp x on 18k with a stock bottom end????

Not that I've ever heard of. It MAY be possible with big cams and all the right supporting mods: ex manifold (cause your stock one will eventually crack), test pipe, single exhaust, big 3.5 intake, open dump DP, on corn juice and on a night where the stars are all aligned and definitely on a Dynojet..
The first thing to figure out is what shop you're gonna take your car to for install of all the parts and good tuning.
But honestly if you're stuck on 500hp, by the time you buy all the parts to get the MHI to 500hp you could have just slapped a EFR kit on there and get 500 easily probably without cams and still have room to grow as a MHI will be maxed and a 7670/8374 will just be waking up.

I agree 100%. I just think it would b cool to b the first but at the same time I don't wanna be disappointed. I would do all the installation and probably take it to strictly modified in ill. I have plenty of supporting mods

Ets uicp licp 3.5 ic
Ams single exit turbo back (test pipe widemouth dp) Did however just buy a used ets v2 extreme catback. (Even tho u say a single exit is better......explain please?)
Ams fuel rail
Map/Aem fpr kit
Turbosmart dual port bov
Aem intake
Id 1300cc
Areomotive 340
Exedy stage 2
Aem fail safe
Grimspeed 3 port

Waiting for delivery on Kelford c's beehive kit and arp head studs

If I went mhi 18k route I would get it ported and get a full race runner manifold. Ik u said larger intake and an open dump dp. I'd rather not have to replace those parts but every little bit counts.

This build would b fun to do but when I watch this video it just makes me say don't do it
