Howdy everyone, so my rear diff cracked. I spoke with one Evo beast and got his input on what might have caused it, but also wanted to give others a swing at helping me figure out what led to my diff cracking. I have a 2012 GSR, with the TS solid diff mount, driveshaft bushings, and the poly side bushings. I have only ever launched the car once, and it was eons ago (like last year). I haven't hit anything in the road or bottomed out either, so i'm not sure what would have caused my diff to crack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I saw a puddle of fluid under my car and noticed the diff had fluid dripping off it. Those bushings are the Torque Solutions Polyurethane bushings.
It's that solid diff mount and bushings that did you in. With no deflection any shock load that the bushings used to take up are now being put into the diff/housing.
