Shifter Cable Issue. Please Help!!!

Hello everyone. So i just got my clutch replaced on the My X. The clutch itself feels great. When on the test drive after install, I went to shift into second, and it the gear just wasn't there. It would grind. The shifter was going into the actual gate, but it wasn't actually getting into the gear. I thought for sure the gear was blow, but when we pulled over and popped the hood, we found something weird. SO basically theres the 2 shifter cables that connect to the arms on top of the trans. The one I am speaking of is the one that lays flat/horizontal and the cotter pin is facing up. Between the cable and bushings there is an "assembly of rubber/plastic where the "accordion" looking rubber piece is. There is a male and female part that connects and is held together with some sort of metal "clamp" (but it doesn't have a way to tighten). Basically, the tony clamp that holds the 2 pieces together wore out and separated the 2 pieces. Its just weird because I'm not sure if I can just get that clamp replace, or if I literally need a whole new cable assembly, which would suck. I was able to secure the parts together with zip ties which has held up great (even though I hate doing Hack jobs). I supplied a picture so you can see what I'm talking about.

Basically, im just asking if anyone else has experience this before and what I should do. Do i need to replace the whole cable assembly? Can I just replace this "assembly?" It would be easy if it was a removable clamp, but it doesn't open or tighten. It seems like something that was never supposed to removed/replaced. Thanks ahead of time for the input.

Better Bushings might help

New Cable bushings might help you from preventing this problem in the future. Plastic or rubber bushings tend to malfunction and or lead to other failures in the cables. We make ours out of premium brass and if you're interested use promo code: DRIVINGSEASON
