Future turbo selection tips?

Im looking for tips on selecting a turbo to add to my build. I mostly use my evo for random fun i like to get on it do pulls and just enjoy the car and how it handles. Im trying to figure out what turbo might work best for me. Im pretty much all for massive acceleration. Im not sure if i want to go and build the block or if i need to for what i want out of the car. What would you guys recommend for just getting a faster acceleration out of the car throughout the whole power band and why? If i need to build the block to acheive it id like to go all out and stroke it and bore it.

right now im running a full ets intake kit 3.5 in intercooler intake all the piping and ets recirc downpipe highflow cat and specd catback im going to install my grimspeed ebc when i get to the tuner in the near future its going to be cobb tuned.

Keep the stock block, you can have a lot of fun without spending money building the block.

Is this your DD?

I'd recommend an EFR kit 100%. The 7163 is a great street turbo, or the 8374 is amazing and leaves room to grow down the line if you do build the block.

its not a daily driver for commuting i drive it when i feel like it after work and on weekends. I dont really plan on racing it alot maybe a few times. I mostly go on spirited drives. Ill look into the efr kit thank you!

The CBRD RB-X kit with EFR 7163 for good power and quick spool, Full Race 8374 kit for slower spool with big power potential. If you don't want to buy a complete turbo kit and just looking for a bolt on turbo, I love my GTX3576R from ATP. Or there's always the MHI 18K.
Choices, choices...

it seems like the efr 7163 is a good go to what kind of power are you making with your bolt on? That was my choice at first its hard picking a turbo lol

this might be a bad question but are those numbers enough for you? Like do you think 400hp out of your evo is good enough for street driving?

With the EFR 7163 kit, test pipe, stock cams on 93 I'm at 420 whp/340 wtq on the CBRD Mustang Dyno.

It's plenty for me for my DD. I rarely use the power I have, but it's a lot of fun when I decide to get on it.

It's plenty. And the linear power delivery makes it feel very good. Much different than stock. Pulls nice to 8K rpm rather than hitting a brick wall halfway to redline like the factory turbo.
And I have room to grow should I choose switch to E85 and/or build the block in the future. I believe the 3576 can do up to 650hp or something. Not very laggy either for being a relatively big turbo.
For comparison, a stock X on this particular dyno puts down 220-240whp. Over 150 more to the wheels is pretty substantial.

Do you guys have dyno sheets somewhere of your turbos? Id like to see what they do throughout the power band if possible.

Here's mine. It's actually only 410 whp, not 420. This was a retune after installing the turbo kit. I have a more recent tune where I got rid of the ETS intake I had, in favor of the CBRD 3" MAF intake. Similar numbers on the retune, I think it was slightly higher power with slightly less boost.

no one mentioned the 7670 with the 1.05 a/r housing. You can make 550 or so on pump gas with cams and still be fully spooled up by 4k or so, in my opinion it is the best street turbo.

Yeah that would be a good choice as well.
