Crank pulley clearance issue..?

Hi Everyone,

2014 Evo X GSR

So I am about to pull my timing chain cover. One of the last steps is to remove my crank pulley. So I removed the nut, went to slide it off, and realized I have a huge clearance issue... I can not get it off. Is this common? Can anybody tell me what they did to get the pulley off? I have tried letting the motor all the way down, jacking different parts up/down, with no success.

Any help is appreciated as I am stuck at this point. Thanks!

If its stuck on crank. Spray wd40 and use puller. Or tap with rubber mallet. Or you can get it off cause it hits frame rail?

Yeah.. forgot to specify where it was getting stuck at. It is not stuck on the crank, I just simply do not have enough clearance to get the pulley off, it is hitting the frame rail like you said. It is soooo close, but I just can't manage to get the extra 1/4" since the frame rail is stopping it from coming off.

I am going to try and remove the front motor mount tomorrow, maybe this will allow me to drop the motor down slightly more to get it off? I'm at a loss as of what to do..

Ok.

Im mot familiar with evo x.

Remove passenger mount an lower jack. Dont be scared to go too low. Just watch make sure the harness doesnt crack also make sure you dont go so low the axles are holding all the weight.

It might have a rear wish bone style mount under car.

Need to take the passenger side motor mount off. If the car has poly motor and trans mounts, you may also need to lower the front roll stop mount.
