Anybody ever tried DIY rebuild for their EF4?

Mine has no smoke, but huge shaft play (in and out, side to side) and I am thinking o using this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Rebui...pZ53UA&vxp=mtr

Anyone who has any experience or recommendations?

 

I've rebuilt a few turbos now. As long as you take your time and keep track of what you're doing, you should be able to pull it off. For that price you don't really have much to lose besides your time. Give it a shot!

 

Thanks just ordered the kit, I hope it fits and is easy to do.

 

I would be more worried about the housing coming apart.
