Left Rear Wheel Shaking

Hey Guys,

so I was cruising on Highway doing 80 mph and all of sudden my car started shaking massively.

Car seems fine when I am doing around 25 or 30 mph so I thought may be wheels are out of balance. I got wheel balance and alignment done right away but left rear wheel is still shaking.

Decided to put car on all the jack and saw left rear wheel wobbling along with Axle.

Close up left rear diff/ Axle socket

I've removed the rear axle and inspected Axle and Rear diff but not sure about what's the issue. Any pointer or help is greatly appreciated.

Axle looks good to me, I think you've got a bent wheel. Hit anything hard recently?

Check for Horizontal and vertical play with wheel off ground. If there is no play then its likely a bent wheel, rotate the tire to the rear right or somewhere up front and see if the vibration goes with it.

Thank you for your response. I don't remember hitting anything hard recently to be honest. I just check vertical and horizontal play but it seems ok.

I took out all the wheels from mine and put them on my friend's evo today. He didn't experience any issues with my wheel.

Update: Changed rear axle and rotate my tires too. However, rear driver side only wobbles when I am accelerating. Car seems fine the moment I take foot off the pedal.

How many miles on the car? Possible bad wheel bearing?

Front Passenger Axle boot leaked and broke the inside of the axle. It was the side that connects to t-case which made it look like t-case was the issue. Changed the axle and everything is back to normal.
