EVO X rattling noise after time chain replacement
2 weeks ago i have had the timing chain, tensioner and guides replaced by the dealer. (the oil chain etc is also replaced)
I had to do this as the timing chain was somewhat stretched and made a ratling noise.
From the day i picked the car up tere was a noise comming from the engine that wasnt there before.
At first it was a kind of grinding noise
But now it seems to be louder and a kind of rattle agian. :-(

So yesterday i took the car back to the dealer to get this sorted.
They told me that this noise was caused by the new timing chain that has to run in on the old camgear sprockets.
Now i have to drive the car for 1000km and see if this sound dissapears.
If not they say they have to replace the MIVEC camgear sprockets - it seems these a very expensive.
Is there any logic to all things mentioned above ?
I'm asking as i never heartd replacing the camgear sprockets due to replacement of a timing chain - but i'm no mechanic.
So i hope there are people over here who had the same issue and can point out what the problem is.
Thanks in advance.
